Mr. Philip Southwell

Philip has significant experience in investment banking and principal investing, mostly focused on emerging & frontier markets in Asia, Middle East, Central Europe and in Africa. Prior to becoming a Partner at Chapel Hill, Philip completed investment banking transactions across 33 different countries: Angola, Algeria, Austria, Australia, Brazil, China, Czech, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, and US.
Philip trained as a Chartered Accountant before joining Smith New Court (Merrill Lynch) and he then spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank (of which 5 were based in Asia) promoted into a variety of leadership roles including Head of Asia-Pacific for ECM; Head of Europe for ECM; Head of Coverage for Corporate & Investment Banking (“CIB”) in Europe, Middle East and Africa; Board Director of DB Russia; Head of CIB for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa; COO for CIB in EMEA.
